Grammar and English Skills

ECS uses the Houghton-Mifflin English Program. Students learn to identify each sentence part as well as the overall sentence structure. They learn how all sentence parts fit together to make sense and express an idea. They learn how to expand, improve, and edit their writing. The students then learn how to express their own ideas through formal and creative writing where they can focus on capitalization, punctuation, and subject and verb agreement. Learning good English skills will help students for the rest of their lives. When they understand the English language, they will be more successful in using it. This method has been successful with students of all ability levels at Emmaus Christian School. |
